2026: Currently Competing
Shimizu Hinako
Shimizu Hinako is from the hit game Silent Hill F. When first thinking about creating her costume I played through the game and watched it many times. I took aspects from the game to build upon her design. Research on Seifuku was done to know what fabrics to use and how they where constructed traditionally. What could have been a very simple costume turned into one full of detail that nods directly to aspects of the game. I am currently competing her and have received nothing but positive feedback inside and out of the garment from professionals in the field. 2025: Best Advanced
Sylus
Winning best advanced at Zipcon 2026, Sylus is from the game Love and Deepspace. When creating the costume I really wanted to expand the idea that Sylus is a very wealthy man that wears very detailed and extravagant clothing. I expanded upon his default clothing look taking into account his other clothing styles, likes and interests, and relating to his bird motif. I added around 7000 beads to the blouse, feathers, pops of shiny red, and a hand beaded trim. Check out the build book to see from start to finish how the entire garment was made.

Hua Cheng
2022: Third Place
Overview
Hua Cheng was my very first costume and very first time garment making. Competed at Tekko Con 2022 in the Novice category, I brought home third place and was commended for my research and recommended to move up to Journeyman at my first competition. I started by doing days of research on traditional Chinese clothing called Hanfu. The styles, the traditional making methods, and if it was okay for me to respectfully wear it. Once understanding the styles and making methods I was able to get a pattern and alter it to better fit Hua Chengs style of Hanfu. My favorite part of it is that I hand sewed hundreds of bells into the costume as it is mentioned in the manhwa that he jingles like bells when he walks. 2023: Judges Choice
Cherry Blossom
Overview
Cherry Blossom is from the show Sk8 The Infinity . This was the first costume I started to branch into adding details that were not originally on the character that would make sense based on his interests, the world he lives in, etc. I added pearls and flowers alongside playing with texture on the fabrics I chose. I competed him at Tekko 2023 where I won judges choice from a judge that has been costume making since 2003 for my pleating and attention to detail. Check out my build book to see how it was made.

Mizu
2024
Overview
Mizu from Blue Eye Samurai was competed and created in 2024. Mizu was a huge learning experience for me and allowed for me to understand feedback and criticism. The feedback I gained was for fit being off and to big, alongside messy seams in the props. I was able to take this knowledge and adapt. For my costumes moving forward I was able to change the way I did things to better conform to my body. I was able to further research prop making and how to make those cleaner. Overall Mizu was a big stepping stone for my more advanced and clean costumes.
